What Is Crafting?

When my uncle Elmer got out his pocket knife and whittled each of us kids a flute out of a piece of willow, that was crafting.

It just means to make something or construct Crafts Sewingsomething with special skill, usually requiring dexterity or artistic ability or both. In spite of what some people say, everyone has some special ability for crafting. Maybe you haven’t found your own little crafting niche yet but, when you do, you will make your life much more enjoyable if you pursue it.

When I was a kid, yeah it was a long time ago, people made lots of things as part of their ever day living so they would survive. Many of those everyday things, such as making jams and jellies and clothes and furniture and crocheting and embroidery are now considered “Crafts.” Now we have origami, scrap-booking, leather work, paper crafts of all kinds, jewelry making wood working and so many more I can’t begin to list them all here.
